Poetry and Pints is an informal round table poetry night on the second Sunday of the month in the Old Swan Inn, Llantwit Major.
How does it work?
We meet at 6:30pm in the restaurant area of the pub, have a chat and grab a drink. Then we begin by sharing any good news that people have if they want to.
Going around the room, so you know more or less when it will be your turn, we each read a poem or perhaps a song. There is a microphone with a stand which we do ask that you use if you don't mind. When everyone who has read or performed, we have a break. If you're only able to stay for the first half, that's absolutely fine. In fact, if you can only stay for some of the evening, that's also fine, just let me know if there's anything I can do to help make these nights work for you.
We then do our second round for anyone who has a second poem (most people do, but there's no need to if you've only got one).
Normally we are finished by 8:30pm and those who want to stay on afterwards.
You are very welcome to come and listen - there is no obligation to perform or read.
